However, if mentees would like to earn PD for the instructional-based coaching and mentoring work they have done with you as their BTC, they are invited to complete and submit logs and reflections made just for these purposes -- at the end of each semester. The deadlines for mentees to submit PD logs and reflections is January 10th for the 1st semester, and May 10th for the 2nd semester. To preserve the integrity of our BTC program and the process of earning PD for mentees, please ensure the logs and reflections submitted by mentees are complete and of high quality. Check out the example in the links below on this SF page, and read through the helpful hints attachment below about what counts, and what doesn't with respect to PD for mentees. In an effort to attract and retain highly qualified teachers, and in response to the results of the 2004-05 SUSD Professional Development Needs Assessment Survey, the SUSD created a beginning teacher coaching program designed to provide job embedded, on-site coaching for beginning teachers in their first two years of teaching. Now in it’s sixth year, the role of SUSD BTCs continues to be valued as BTCs support beginning teachers in the implementation of Arizona’s Professional Teacher Standards.
